Our History
Steve & Lizzie started meeting together around 15 years ago with a congregation of just seven adults and three children, and a passion for the lost and love of God for this nation and their local community of Poole.
From the start we have worked with the homeless on the streets of Poole serving food and prayer, with hiring halls on Sunday mornings and borrowing local churches through the week for our prayer meetings, gradually over time with Gods Relationship and Holy Spirit we have grown and now have the chapel in Douglas Road, Parkstone.
But before we came to Douglas road, there was a struggling congregation of around 12 people that were facing closure of their building, praying and crying out to our Father for help . This was the start in October 2006 of Water Edge Pentecostal Church, Poole. The chapel is alive again.
Steve's statement in 2006 re the new chapel.
"The significant thing is that this old church was birthed in an apostolic way, with a miracle of healing, and it was a church that planted other churches in the local area," reflects Steve. "This little old building has had moments in its history where God's presence has shaken the building. It's interesting that God is bringing life back into a work that was facing closure".
So for Waters Edge now in 2016, God has taken his church on such a journey over the years and we pray he expands and overflows as we go forwards in all areas. We thank God for the new people that are coming to Waters Edge from Russia, Moldova,Lithuania, Estonia, and across the UK, we pray we will see more countries visiting and joining.
We are still working on the streets on Monday nights with the homeless, feeding them and helping the addicts and rough sleepers with Street Level Ministries. The one part we know and see in all the these areas of outreach is (Prayer changes Everything).
We give Jesus all the glory.
